For hundreds of years, Portuguese university students have played music together in groups called ‘tunas’. Using traditional instruments and wearing their academic uniforms, tunas are commonly found playing fun music on campuses or on the street!

LCT is keeping this academic tradition alive in Canada’s lusophone community. We play at local community events, host concerts, and travel to participate in tuna festivals in places such as Portugal, Spain, Mexico, and more! Anyone can join, no musical experience needed (we teach and provide instruments).
